About

I am an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Duke University, where I co-direct the Center for Comparative Philosophy and the Harmony Humanities Lab. My research focuses primarily on ancient Greek philosophy—especially Plato—ethics, and comparative philosophy. I also have interests in classical Chinese philosophy and social and political philosophy. I received my PhD from Princeton University in 2023.

I was born and raised in Shenyang, China, where I attended Northeast High School and followed the humanities track in preparation for the gaokao, China’s national college entrance examination. I then studied at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating summa cum laude with highest honors in philosophy and classical studies and being elected to Phi Beta Kappa. In addition to ancient Greek, Latin, and French, I read classical Chinese.

Outside philosophy, I enjoy traveling, cooking, exercising, and spending time with my long-haired miniature dachshund, BB Burger.
